Why Choose Us

Maple Trails, LLC is a family-owned Colorado woodworking shop run by Dan and Elizabeth in Colorado Springs, Colorado. For more than twenty years, woodworking has been both their livelihood and their way to unwind after Dan’s military deployments, turning stress into something tangible, beautiful, and built to last.

What began as a way to relax and make a few projects for friends and family quickly grew into a full woodworking business as word spread and more people started asking for custom pieces. Over the years, Dan and Elizabeth have created everything from custom cabinets and furniture to awards, plaques, signs, games, cutting boards, holiday décor, and one-of-a-kind handmade wood gifts for all occasions. Today, Maple Trails focuses on custom furniture and Colorado woodworking for customers across the United States, with nationwide shipping and local pickup available in the Colorado Springs area.

At Maple Trails, “if you can dream it, we’ll find a way to make it” is more than a slogan—it’s how every project starts. The shop works with a wide range of woods and materials, including maple, walnut, poplar, hickory, cherry, purpleheart, padauk, and pine, choosing the right combination to make each project truly unique. Many pieces are handcrafted start to finish, and the team also uses CNC, laser engraving, and 3D printing to add precise details, personalization, and modern touches where they matter most.

Every item that leaves the shop is inspected carefully and must meet Dan and Elizabeth’s high standards for quality and durability before it’s shipped or picked up. As a small-batch, made-to-order workshop, Maple Trails can handle everything from one-of-a-kind gifts to larger bulk orders while still paying close attention to the details that make each piece special. The heart behind the work is simple: craftsmanship, family, and faith, with a strong commitment to made-in-USA quality and support for local communities, veterans, and first responders.

Maple Trails is truly a family business—three kids and a dog are part of the everyday life of the shop. Everyone has a role, from sweeping and sanding to staining, design, and programming, and working together has become both a blessing and a way for Dan to move forward from his military background and deployment experiences. Along the way, Dan and Elizabeth have loved teaching their own kids and other young people about woodworking, creativity, and having an entrepreneurial mindset. Much of their growth has come through Facebook Marketplace and word of mouth, and they’re grateful for every customer who trusts them to bring a vision to life with a custom, handcrafted piece that will be enjoyed for years to come.
